As fall makes its way to us, so does America’s favorite award shows. Your favorite artists from around the world gather to receive credit for their most famous work. 

At 8:00 pm on September 14, 2025, the 77th edition Primetime Emmy Awards will be broadcasted on CBS and Paramount+. The Emmy Awards are a wide range of honor and excellence directed towards the American and global television productions that highlight the artistic advancements they have.  

Artists of all genres and themes work for years to produce entertainment for people around the world to watch. Over many years, more and more recognition is produced in order to show the artists everyone’s appreciation. 

The Emmys began in 1949 by the Academy of Television Arts and Sciences. According to the Television Academy, “The name ‘Emmy’ comes from ‘Immy,’ a term for an image orthicon tube, and the symbol is a winged woman holding an atom, representing the combination of art and science in television.” 

The first category of nominations includes the word outstanding. According to the Oxford Dictionary, outstanding is defined as, “exceptionally good.” Not only do they hand out awards but they recognize the actors and actresses in the highest forms. 

Prior to the award ceremony, actors and actresses make their way across the red carpet, debuting their outfits for the night. Following the award show, many host afterparties of all sorts. Major studios and brands conduct a party including invite only guests. 

Every year, the atmosphere is greatly set from the hosts. Each host of each category sets a tone for the different categories. Famous directors, actors and other professions in the television industry present each award. Besides the awards, viewers at home can tune in to see fantastic performances and other loved segments.
