Sittoo’s on Massillon Road is a fast-service Lebanese grill, a spin-off of the Aladdin’s chain. During a recent visit, I ordered several dishes to sample and share with my family.
The hummus garden sandwich, a vegetarian option, came wrapped in pita bread with lettuce, pickles, radishes and hummus. It was well seasoned with a hearty crunch. Though I typically avoid pickles, I hardly noticed them in this sandwich.
The beef kafta sandwich was less enjoyable. Similar in concept to a Big Mac, it featured seasoned beef, but the strong pickle flavor overwhelmed the other ingredients.
The seasoned fries were generously coated in thyme but lacked a dipping option. Pairing them with hummus would have been a welcome addition. The rice pilaf, on the other hand, was excellent. Its aroma suggested a strong cinnamon flavor, though the taste was more subtle.
For dessert, the walnut baklava stood out. Sweetened with plenty of honey, it was rich without being overwhelming. As someone who already enjoys baklava, I found this version especially satisfying.
The restaurant itself was clean and welcoming. At 12:30 p.m., it wasn’t overly busy, and there was plenty of seating for both dine-in customers and those waiting for takeout orders. Orders were placed at the counter and delivered to tables. Staff members were friendly and patient as I decided what to order, and the food arrived quickly for being made fresh. Soft background music complemented the homey atmosphere.
If I return, I would order the rice pilaf, baklava and pita bread with hummus. With a range of vegetarian options and fresh, flavorful dishes, Sittoo’s is a solid choice for anyone looking to try something different. I would rate the meal a 7.5 out of 10.
