October 3rd 2025 is the day that Taylor Swift is set to fully release her 12th studio album, “The Life of a Showgirl”. This is amazing for Swift’s fans all over the world, as she just got finished with the Eras Tour, while also releasing “The Tortured Poets Department,” that she wrote during her extravagant eras tour. Taylor announced her 12th album on a podcast called “New Heights” with her boyfriend at the time, and now fiancé Travis Kelce and his brother Jason Kelce.
I believe it’s going to be a mix of upbeat pop songs, while also having a sad song or two. The only reason I bring up the mention of more up beat pop songs is because Ms. Swift is collaborating with Max Martin who produced the pop singles that ruled the charts including “We are Never Ever Getting Back Together, Shake it Off, King of My Heart, and Dancing with our Hands Tied.
The fact that Swift mentions Martin gives a lot of people the idea of an upcoming pop album. I tend to disagree with the idea of a whole pop album because when the track list was released we saw titles like “Eldest Daughter” and “The Fate of Ophelia”.
Fans speculate that this album is going to be a more raw view of the life pop stars endure, almost the negative side of fame. As many people talk about being the eldest daughter in more of a negative light.
The Fate of Ophelia is by Shakespeare in “The Hamlet” where Ophelia is filled with sadness and drowns descending into madness. The whole symbol of that play is grief and the woman’s position in this era. Could Taylor be trying to prove a point to us as a society? Or is she just channeling her inner English teacher?
