As the season is winding down, the Boys golf team have had a successful season, coming out undefeated. The team had their last match on September 18, against Lake High School, grabbing yet another win for the 2025 season.
Not only has the team won every match, but on Sunday September 22 the boys competed in the Post-season Federal League Tournament. Again, the boys team came out on top, triumphantly winning the federal league title, with Greens Silas Kirkpatrick ’26, hitting 5 under and coming in first.
“This season has been a lot of fun,” said Shane Bates, ’26. “We have definitely exceeded my expectations and I am really glad how our team has bonded.”
Throughout the fall, the team has a shooting average of 300 for 18 holes and an average of 152 for nine holes. Despite their success, the Boys team isn’t satisfied yet. Their main goal is to qualify for states and win.
Until then, the boys still have a full schedule, with the District Tournament coming up on October 6.
Looking towards the other side of the green, the Girls Golf team is also ending their season victorious. Currently, they have a winning record of 5-4 and placed 3rd overall in the Pre-season Federal League tournament.
On September 16, the team celebrated Reese Genet ’26 and Brooke Shocklee ’26 on their senior night against Hoover High School. Although the team came out with a loss, they still performed well, losing just 187 to 161.
“I will miss the relaxing atmosphere there is at golf tournaments and getting to do such a fun sport with my friends,” said Shocklee ’26.
As the season winds down, the team has two more tournaments before moving onto the Post-season Federal League Tournament and Sectionals. Finally, they will close out the season with Districts, which they hope that Shocklee ’26 and Leah Dang ’27 will qualify individually for.
