In recent weeks the girls golf team wrapped up their season at the District Tournament. They have had a very successful year with a winning record of five wins and four losses, as well as taking fourth place in the Federal League and Sectional Tournament. The team wishes their sole senior, Raelynn Winkler ‘24, the best of luck moving forward.
“Last year there were four seniors and myself who were our main scorers, and losing them meant we needed girls to step up this year. Brooke Shocklee, Leah Dang, Raelynn Winkler and myself were the four primary scorers this year,” Junior Sydney Shocklee said.
“The relationships we build on this team are so special, and I am looking forward to my senior season. I’m excited to play one more season with my sister and see how much I improve over the summer,” Shocklee ‘25 said. The girls golf team has plenty of new and returning talent and a bright future.
The boys golf team, lead by coach Greg Andrego, has been on fire this season and recently played at the State Tournament. The State Tournament was held on October 20 at Ohio State where the team placed 12th overall. The team went undefeated in the federal league and placed fourth in the Division 1 District Golf tournament at Pine Hills Golf Club. They collectively shot 305, a season best, enabling their season to advance.
“One thing I noticed at states was that we had the biggest crowd of supporters out of all the teams that were there because we have some of the best, most involved parents, and friends,” Evan Raymond ‘24 said. Overall, the team had a very successful season and should be very proud of their state run.
