This 2023-2024 season the dance team continues to carry out their jaw dropping performances and continue to blow the student body away. This year the dance team made their debut at the first pep rally of the year.
The dance team also performs at basketball games during halftime and pregame. This year the dance team is focusing on teamwork and have been completing many team building exercises.
“We’ve been working really hard to make the team the best it can be this year and we’re excited to showcase all of our hard work,” said senior on the dance team, Kylie Thomann.
On Friday January 8th, 2024 the dance team competed at regionals at Avon Lake High School for division 5.
“We got off the bus and at the time it was raining and we all had to hold our hoods up, and our dressing room is the cafeteria and we set up at our tables and got ready, then we went in and practiced a bit” said Alyssa Georgio.
They competed for the following: Pom, Kick, hip hop, jazz, and lyrical. Some people are in some dances and others are only in a few.
”I’m in all five of our dances and in the time span of 2-3 hours I had to do all our dances so that was a lot, but the adrenaline kept me going but having fun with my team was really easy and fun ” said Alyssa Georgio.

This year will be their first year doing kick, “We’ve been working really hard on kick this year” said Kylie Thomann.
The dance team has so much to be proud of because they did qualify in all 5 categories Alyssa Georgio believes that there’s always room for improvement for her.
“I was proud of my performances in four of our dances except for pom, I have a solo part in the front and I messed it up a bit but other than that I was proud”
On Sunday January 28th, 2024 the dance team will be competing at Heath High School for states. The dance team is expected to do amazing at pom this year at states and even place 1st.
