Mrs. Blosco
Mrs. Christina Blosco is a new language arts teacher here at Green. Though a first year here, she has taught in other districts nearby. What made her want to come to Green was the strong sense of community and the friendly people. Mrs. Blosco has a passion for writing, which is why she went to college to major in English and minor in Creative Writing. Her most recent job before Green was working with elementary kids, and although she loves working with the younger students, she always comes back to high school. Her favorite part of teaching high schoolers is being able to watch them grow throughout the years. One of her favorite parts of teaching is talking and laughing with her students, but being a new teacher means rebuilding those close relationships with her students. It has also been challenging creating all the new materials for class and working with the software that we use here at GHS. Mrs. Blosco is thankful for all the friendly, helpful students and staff she has met and worked with so far this year.
Mr. Bronson
Mr. Brock Bronson is officially an Intervention Specialist at GHS. Though he enjoyed being a substitute last year, he is excited to have his own classroom and make connections with his students. He started his education at Ohio University and finished his degree online. This is Mr. Bronson’s first official teaching job, and Green is the only district he has ever worked in. He has explored many other career paths, but ultimately kept coming back to education, which is something he has been around his whole life. The biggest challenge he has faced so far is figuring out all the lessons and requirements, which can be time consuming and tricky for first year teachers. Intervention Specialists help students in all subjects, but his favorite to teach is history. He is not currently a coach but may consider it in the future for football, track or cross country.
Mr. Landi
Mr. Nicholas Landi is a new Intervention Specialist at GHS. He is a new face in the high school, but he has worked at the Primary School for seven years. The change from six years olds to seniors is pretty drastic, but Mr. Landi enjoys talking about what life will be like after high school with his students. He comes from a family of educators, but has considered other career paths such as health and wellness or finance. Mr. Landi is very passionate about fitness. He is not a coach but may consider it in the future. He also has hopes about offering a class that revolves around health and wellness, not just for athletes but for everyone. Navigating the big building has been hard, but he enjoys meeting someone new everyday.
Mr. Johnson
Mr. Angelo Johnson is the newest addition to the social studies department as well as the football coaching staff. He was interested in Green due to the good reputation around teaching and coaching. Mr. Johnson said that he applied minutes after seeing the job posting. He has been interested in education his whole life due to being surrounded by a family full of teachers. He has been playing football from youth through college and now is excited to coach a great team. So far, Government is his favorite class to teach due to the real world application it offers. Though being a first year teacher can be challenging, Mr. Johnson says that the other staff members have been extremely welcoming and helpful.
Mr. Hoffmeister
Mr. Gregory Hofmeister is the new Drama teacher at GHS. Mr. Hofmeister saw the posting for the job here at Green High School and thought it would be a really cool opportunity (due to the fact that our school offers Musical Theater as not only an after school club but a class). He has a ton of experience in his field after participating in Men’s Choir and Marching band in college, and also considered going into performance as a career. Mr. Hofmeister is hired as a teacher at GHS and also helps oversee all the productions in the district. He has a passion for performance, but his favorite class at the moment is stagecraft. It offers opportunities for students who want to work behind the scenes.
Mr. Spotleson
Mr. Mitchell Spotleson is joining the math team at GHS. Though new to us, he previously worked at Lake Middle School for six years. Transitioning from middle school to high school has not been a drastic change as he is teaching all freshman classes. Mr. Spotleson knew he wanted to be a teacher since he was in elementary school. His dad was an educator so he spent a lot of time at school. He is also the new Varsity Basketball Coach and is looking forward to starting the season. Though he is licensed to teach grades 4-9, he prefers being in the high school to stay close to his players. Learning a whole new building and meeting all new people has been challenging, but he is thankful to everyone for being so helpful.
