It’s been a long time coming. The official Eras Tour documentary, along with footage from the final show, is set to arrive on Disney+ on Dec. 12. Taylor Swift’s latest project promises fans a more personal and behind-the-scenes look at her life on tour.
The Eras Tour began in Glendale, Arizona, in March 2023 and concluded in Vancouver, British Columbia, in December 2024. The tour made history as the highest-grossing concert tour ever, earning more than $2 billion in ticket sales. Over the course of 149 shows, each lasting about three hours, Swift performed songs from across all ten of her albums, spanning nearly two decades of music.
Fans are particularly excited that the docuseries will include appearances from Swift’s friends and collaborators, including Ed Sheeran, Gracie Abrams and Sabrina Carpenter, who featured on Swift’s latest album in the song “Life of a Showgirl.”
Unlike her past documentaries, this new release will be a 12-part series rather than a single film. Swifties are already speculating whether her fiancé, NFL player Travis Kelce, will make an appearance. For now, fans will just have to wait and see.
Many had guessed a new project was in the works after cameras were spotted filming at Swift’s final Vancouver show. True to form, Swift stayed silent about the reason why, fueling rumors online. She’s also known for planting Easter eggs and other subtle hints or symbols that tease future projects.
One such clue may have appeared in her Fate of Ophelia music video. In the final moments, a shot through the window reveals downtown Vancouver, possibly referencing the last stop of the Eras Tour.
With the upcoming Disney+ series, Swift continues to bridge music and storytelling, giving fans an even deeper look into the tour that defined an era.
