Although Taylor Swift is all the rage in today’s generation, there are so many more tunes that reach the ears beyond just T-Swift.Critics online argue her songs are only filled with lyrics focusing on failed relationships. Fans of T-Swift are starting to believe Swift’s image as a relatable and down-to-earth celebrity, is carefully crafted and not entirely genuine. Despite the mass success she has gained, and devoted fan base, there are those who think Swift’s popularity is not appropriate to the quality of her music.
It can be extremely tiring listening to the same three songs on repeat. The local radio station seems to replay the top five hits for hours on end and music starts to lose the lust it once had. Growing up in the 2000s, I believe was the prime of some of the best tunes. ‘Never Be Like You’ by Flume, and Kai is a song that brings back all of the childhood nostalgia. Inside the album “Skin” are many dubsmash- like songs. Flume’s main goal was to bring in the listener because of the sounds inside of the music, not the lyrics. I would highly recommend listening to this album if you have not yet. Some of it is kind of weird but mostly pretty cool, all this considered I will give this a 9/10.
If you are a pop music fan and enjoy country music, I would highly recommend listening to this song, “Doin’ Life” by Redferrin. His recent releases are full of adrenaline-pumping tunes. Redferrin is a small creator in the music industry, but his growth is really making an upbringing this past year. His most popular album, “Old No.7”, has some top hits you probably never knew were his. The one thing I love most about his music is that it is something you can dance freely to with your friends or let out a good cry after a hard day. 11/10
If you are not much of a Pop or country music fan, then I have a song for you that is the closest thing to divorced-dad music you will get. “Dial Tone” by Catch Your Breath is a song I have come to be obsessed with. Catch Your Breath is a creator I have not listened to in the past.I heard this song on the radio, and have had it on repeat. It now sits inside of my liked songs on Spotify. There is a certain mood inside of this song I can not exactly put my finger on, but it feels like the emotions you go through when someone walks away from you without ever clarifying why.
If you need a song to get hyped up before a long shift at work, or are having a bad day this is one of my favorite songs I listen to, and let me tell you, you will dance. “Light it up (Remix)” by Major Lazer,Nyla, and Fuse ODG originated in the social media platform, TikTok, as do many other popular party songs to this day of age. There is not much more to add onto this song excerpt for, listen to it.
