Browns need a playoff run and need to find someone for the job they do that on January 13, 2020 ,replacing Freddie Kitchens. Stefanski is an offensive-minded coach who wanted to call the plays and change the culture in Cleveland. Fans brought Stefanski in with not exactly open arms, given that the Cleveland Browns going into Stefanski’s hiring have not had a playoff win since 1994, have never been to a super bowl, have never won a championship since 1957, and have only made the playoffs one time since the team left in 1995. So, the Browns fans are tired of starting over time and time and time again. So Stefanski had to prove to us and earn our respect, and in his first year he did just that. The Browns have had 12 coaches since they came back in 1999. The browns fanbase were quite frankly tired of starting over
He took the Browns to the playoffs for the first time since 2004, beat the Pittsburgh Steelers twice on back to back weeks, and beat the Steelers twice in the same year for the first time in a very long time.
Baker Mayfield and Nick Chubb manning the offense totally renewed the Cleveland Browns. Over the next two years it was very blue for the Cleveland Browns and Stefanski with questions surrounding why Baker Mayfield was playing with a torn labrum against bum teams like the Lions in 2021, especially with Case Keenum as the backup QB. A lot of questions surrounding the play calling by Stefanski not running the ball with an all pro Nick Chubb in the backfield and just wanting to simply put it as experimenting things rather than hard nose AFC North football.
After the disappointing 2021 season came to an end, a lot of questions were surrounding do they let go of the former #1 overall pick Baker Mayfield. Then, the opportunity came to nail superstar QB Deshaun Watson. Lots of questioning came into bringing this guy in from Houston. The drama Deshaun Watson has had, which made fans question the Browns bringing that into the locker room where many girls come at him and accusing him in civil lawsuits of rape, none of it is deemed true or not but the NFL had to suspend the newly paid 230 million dollar qb and they had Jacoby Brissett be a very solid backup QB for the Browns. This man did an above average job while Deshaun was suspended. The defense was the issue where the average points given up per game was 22.4 at 19th worst in the NFL. Rusty Deshaun came back later but then he showed very below average play and the Browns with 230 million dollar QB Desaun Watson finished 7-10 last year. All the money was guaranteed to Deshaun by the way. Stefanski heading into the 2023-24 season had an immense amount of pressure on him given he has probably one of the top five most talented rosters with Nick Chubb, Myles Garrett, Deshaun Watson and the best O- line in the NFL. He has to answer the bell.
This year everyone thought the Browns season was over in week two when star running back Nick Chubb tore his ACLl/MCL on a Monday night game in Pittsburgh. Then, in week eight, the 230 million dollar QB Deshaun Watson had to get season ending surgery on his throwing arm.

Phone rings and Joe Flacco picks up the phone and nobody would have predicted that Joe Flacco would have come off the couch and led the Browns to a playoff run but he did. The Cleveland Browns had 26% of the salary cap on the injury report (which means every player on here had to stay out a minimum of four weeks.)Stefanski took these steps to motivate his team. All of the other ten win teams only started one QB all year. Stefanski this year has done an excellent job at working through his players strengths and has done a better job at playcalling. It seemed like whenever adversity struck Stefanski,he answered the bell and changed the narrative in his time; this far in Cleveland being the losers of American sports. For that, Browns fans are eternally grateful for the things he has done, bringing life back into a football team in a football town located in Cleveland, Ohio. It was just seven years ago the browns gained one win in two seasons. Super Bowl 2025?
