If you live in Green, you definitely know there are tons of fast food restaurants. Yes, that is nice, but what about the higher-end fast food chains? One of the most popular fast food places, loved by many, Chick-fil-A, might be coming to Green, Ohio.
Over the past few months, there has been a lot of discussion about whether a new Chick-fil-A will be built in the old Crazy Chicken building near Target. Right now, the closest Chick-fil-A locations to Green residents are in Jackson Township and North Canton, which can be a bit of a drive just to grab a meal. Because of this, many people in the community are excited about the possibility of having one closer to home.
In November of 2025, the Design Review Board, Planning and Zoning Commission, and Green Planning and Development Director Wayne Wiethe officially approved the site plan. The location is on South Arlington Road. Many people are aware that the parking lot near Target already has limited space and traffic issues, so several adjustments will need to be made in order for the new restaurant to function smoothly for customers.
According to Akron.com, a local community news website, “The conditions include two improvements to the plaza entrance as part of the restaurant construction. The first is the removal of the westbound stop sign (toward the plaza) on Arlington Ridge, which will allow inbound motorists to drive through freely. The second improvement is the addition of a dedicated right-turn lane on Arlington Ridge going eastbound for traffic turning south onto South Arlington Road. Changes to the traffic signal phasing will also occur, and the cost of these improvements will be funded by Chick-fil-A.”
With these changes in place, the old Crazy Chicken building will be completely torn down, and the new Chick-fil-A will be built in its place, with construction expected to begin around spring of 2026.
Many people in Green are excited now that the plans are official. When asked about the news, Green High School student Ella Rybarczyk ’28 said, “I jumped up and down. I’m pretty excited!” Another student, Riley Briet ’27, added, “I did know that there’s a new Chick-fil-A! I can’t wait to eat closer to home!” When the restaurant opens, many people in and around Green will be happy to have another popular dining option nearby.
