On a random Tuesday in San Francisco there was around a 77lb mountain lion that had wandered through San Francisco’s Pacific Heights neighborhood. Before, bystanders had either peered out their window or were standing on the street. Many of the officials had worked to try and capture the mountain lion and tranquilize it. They had done this after warnings were issued with the male cat, to advise the people to slowly back away from it. It was originally seen on Monday morning. A lady who goes by the name Roxanne Blank had just been dropped off outside of her home around 2 a.m. – 3 a.m. that Monday. She had seen the gigantic cat that had calmly been walking up and down her streets. The animal was caught Tuesday around her apartment. “I thought it was a dog at first, but then I saw the tail and realized that it’s not a dog. Then it tripped the light sensor, and that’s when I saw its face and was like, ‘Oh, my God, it’s a mountain lion!’” Blank said Tuesday. She calmly pulled out her phone and began to record the mountain lion. She had realized that they had locked eyes for a little over 5-6 minutes.”We were just staring at each other, but I felt really calm, and I felt like maybe the mountain lion was calm,” she said. “I just stood there in awe of like, ‘Oh, my God, I can’t believe this is happening to me.’” It was reported that a few minutes later, the wild cat had begun walking down a set of stairs to only see that Blank’s dog had started barking from inside of her apartment, Blank had said she called 911. The mountain lion had been found on Tuesday hiding in a nice garden between a set of two apartment complexes, San Francisco Fire Department Lt Mariano Elias said. The authorities said they made sure to have shot the feline with tranquilizers three times “to take precaution that it was completely unconscious,”Elias said. “They covered his eyes and bound its paws, just to make sure it wouldn’t have run anywhere.”
